How to get to Uppsala from the airport
Stockholm-Arlanda:
The fastest way to get to Uppsala from Arlanda is by
train.
From August 21-st 2006 there are frequent trains called
"Upptåget" running every 15 minutes or so. The train leaves
from the
Arlanda
train station for long distance trains. To reach this station one
should go to the "Sky City" -- the part of the airport, which is quite
close to Terminal 5. Just follow directions "Sky City" and "Long
distance trains". Please, note that directions "Trains" and "Stockholm
Express" are not good, they will lead you to the terminal of Stockholm
Express trains, going to Stockholm, which is opposite to Uppsala.
Coming to the central hall of "Sky City" you will see the doors leading
to elevators and escalators to the platform. Tickets can be bought
directly on train for cash. This costs about 120 SEK. Another
possibility is to by them at the desk in front of the doors to
elevators in the hall of "Sky City". This costs about 95 SEK, but can
be paid
only by a credit card I think. The travel to Uppsala takes
approximately
15-20 minutes.
Another way is to take bus Bus 801, which leaves
every 30 minutes from the stop nr. 13, which you will find just leaving
the arrival hall
through the entrance doors. You can also try to follow directions
"Bus". The trip lasts about 35 minutes and costs 90 SEK. The bus
arrives to the central station of Uppsala.
You can also plan your trip online using tågplusguiden.

The public transportation in Uppsala:
Uppsala is relatively small. Every part of it can be reached by buses,
which operate regularly. Almost all buses meet in the center of the
town (the part called "The City" even in Swedish), where you can change
the
bus if necessary. A regular bus ticket costs 20 SEK and is valid for 90
minutes
without other restrictions. In some locals one can also buy a reduction
card (Värdekort), which can be loaded with multiples of 100
SEK.
With this card one trip costs 13 SEK during working days and 11 SEK
between
9.00 and 15.00 and on weekends. There is a deposit of 75 SEK,
refundable
when you return the card.
How to reach Hotel Eklundshof and Mathematical Institute
To reach Department of Mathematics from The City, take bus 3, 17,
20, form the
stop "Dragarbrunsgatan" or "Stora Torget", direction to Ultuna or
Gotsunda.
Just make sure that it will go to the stop
"Ångstömlaboratoriet" on which you should leave the bus.
This stop is front of the Department
of Computer Science (house nr. 2) across the road. Department of
Mathematics is now on the last floor of Ångstömlaboratoriet,
which you will see immediately when you leave the bus. This bus trip
takes approx. 10 minutes. The conference will be
held in house nr. 6, which you will see, when you walk into the campus
area around the Computer Science building. The main lecture hall for us
is room 6140, also called MIC-klubben, entrance from the left side of
the
building. The same entrance as for the room called "Aulan".

the campus with Math. Institute.
