In Swedish

I am a Ph.D. in mathematics and I defended my thesis, Digital Geometry and Khalimsky Spaces on February 29, 2008. I studied at the Department of Mathematics, Uppsala University and FMB. My advisors were Christer Kiselman and Gunilla Borgefors, professor in Image Analysis. I had also an advisor from Stockholm University, Mikael Passare.

Research

My research is about digital geometry—the geometry of the computer screen. I am in particluar interested in connectedness and continuity in digital spaces equipped with the Khalimsky topology. I have also studied digital curves and surfaces in such spaces. The background of this page is an illustration of the Khalimsky plane. The lines shows which points are adjacent.

Personal interests

  • I run orienteering for my club OK Linné. The photo to the left was taken in Spain 2005 by Lars Magnusson.
  • I am a juggler and instructor at the Uppsala Circus School for children.
  • I also run a small software company, Melin Software. For example, we have developed the orienteering game Oriantica.
