Campus maps
1. A b&w map
2. Our newest map
(both not very informative, unless you are flying above the campus,
so read on).
Main reception
The main reception is in the James Watt Centre (A on the map).
Residences
They are located in the vicinity of the reception.
Dining room
You may use your tickets for meals in the Middle Floor
main Dining Room (C on the map).
Lecture room
The lectures will take place in room CM.G01 in
the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences
which is located in the Colin Maclaurin (CM) building
(building no. 1 on the map).
There are two ways to get to the CM building from the main reception:
The easy one:
Go out towards the Loch (which, unlike Ness, contains no
monster) and turn north towards the first gait. (NB. "Gait" is
a Scots word for street which would have originally
had a gate (gait) or port on it.")
The challenging one:
Take the inside route. If you haven't done
this a few times, you have to follow an algorithm:
Start at the reception.
Walk straight through the corridor.
When you reach the stairs, go down.
Go past some shops and a bank.
Enter the SCOTT RUSSELL (1) building.
Make a right to the DAVID BREWSTER (3) building.
Go through the corridor.
Enter the WILLIAM PERKIN (4) building.
Go straight and then turn left.
Go through the corridor.
Turn right, go down the stairs, and then left again.
Enter the EARL MOUNTBATTEN (Electrical Engineering) building.
Go straight and when you reach the motor/dynamo exhibit turn right.
Go straight and enter the COLIN MACLAURIN building, at the first floor.
(It is not unlikely that you find yourself in the
highlands,
in which case turn back and start again.)
